Being one of the oldest long-established hotels of Istanbul,the service journey of Hotel Konak began in 1972 as a 3-star modest hotel with 24 rooms. Commissioned by the tourism doyen, Savaş Gürsel, the hotel increased its service quality and investments constantly over the years and became a hotel with 87-roomsin 1996 and awarded with 4-star hotel status. Room capacity was increased to 117 in 2008 and the façade of the hotel is now facing Cumhuriyet Road, one of the busiest streets in Istanbul. The hotel was wholly renovated in 2009 to reflect style, comfort and technology altogether and became today’s modern and boutique look.
